Adding confirmation to a Secure Multisig transaction with a record device
As a support for multisig wallet with 3 properties, you are probably familiar with the process of creating and managing transactions in the Ethereum network. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to add a confirmation to a multisig transaction using the safe app for a Ledger device.
Premises:
- Have a multisig wallet configuration with 3 properties safe.
- Your Ledger device has the necessary software and firmware installation (Safe is compatible with Ledger devices running Linux, Windows or Macos).
- You have an understanding of Ethereum’s Multisig Protocol and the concept of confirmation.
Step by step guide:
- Create a new transaction proposal :
* Open safely on your Ledger device.
* Tap the “Transactions” tab.
* Tap the “+” icon to create a new transaction proposal.
* Please enter a name, a description and details for the proposal (eg, active, gas and fee price).
- Set up the multisig set
:
* In the editor of transaction proposals, browse in the “Multisig” tab.
* Enable “confirmations” by switching the switch next to it.
* Set the threshold value (ie how many confirmations do you need for approval). For this example, we will use 2 confirmations as a threshold.
- Create a MultiSig Waller Address :
* In the editor of transaction proposals, sail in the “wallet” tab.
* Click the “+” icon near the address of the current wallet.
* Please enter a new wallet name and choose the multisig set for this wallet (we will also set it to 2 confirmations).
- Add a confirmation :
* In the editor of transaction proposals, select the “Confirm” tab.
* Click the “+” icon near the Multisig wallet address.
* Choose the transaction to which you want to add confirmation from the proposal list.
Tips and considerations:
- Make sure you test and review the transaction carefully before proposing it.
- You can adjust the threshold value, as needed, but note that too many confirmations can slow down the transaction process.
- If your multisig wallet is configured for a threshold than 2 trusted, you may need to increase the price or gas tax to ensure approval.
Conclusion:
By following these steps, you should be able to add a confirmation to a multisig transaction in Safe with a Ledger device. Remember to test and carefully review the proposals before proposing them on the network. If you have any problems or have additional questions, see our documentation or contact our assistance team.
Note: This is just a basic guide and there may be additional requirements or considerations specific to your use case. Always see Safe’s official documentation for more detailed information about MultiSig transactions and proposals.
